It seems like a lot of GIS careers focus on programming or software development, so would that be a better choice than their certificate in GIS? My issue is while I'm good with computers in a basic IT way (making bootable USB drives, stuff like that) I don't have any programming experience, and I don't want to be in over my head. So basically, is the certificate friendly to people new to programming? I plan to look at the syllabi for the different courses, but firsthand experience would be great.
